Web of Trust (WOT)

WOT is a free browser security tool that warns users about risky websites that try to scam visitors, deliver malware, or send spam.

WOT safety rating icons appear

beside results from search engines including Google, Yahoo, and MSN, and other popular sites like Wikipedia, providing rating information on trustworthiness, vendor reliability, privacy and child safety.

The Website Reputation Scorecard shows the facts behind website ratings – appearances on negative sources such as phishing and spam black lists or positive sources like del.ici.ous, Digg, or Wikipedia. The scorecard provides a social platform for community members to share their insights with others to increase online security.

Website reputation information is based on user ratings and data retrieved from trusted sources such as phishing site listings and spam blacklists. WOT currently covers 18.4 million sites and has hundreds of thousands of users.

WOT is a free browser add-on that works with Firefox and Internet Explorer. The user interface comes in 10 languages and a colorblind accessible version.
